The Rank Story
In the military, E-9 isn't just a rank — it's a pay grade that takes decades to earn. Command
Sergeant Major. Sergeant Major. Master Chief Petty Officer. Chief Master Sergeant. Different titles,
one designation: E-9. It is the only paygrade in the lineup called by its grade rather than its title —
because no single title captures what this rank means across every branch.
The E-9 is the highest rank an enlisted member can achieve. They have the commander's ear. They know
more about the unit than the company commander. The Captain has the authority. The Sergeant Major has
the knowledge, the network, and twenty-plus years of hard-earned credibility behind every word.
This cigar honors that.
The Smoke
Full body. The longest stick in the lineup — a deliberate choice. E-9s have more time in service
than anyone else in the formation, and this cigar reflects that. A slow, measured burn that rewards
patience and reveals complexity across every third. This is not a quick smoke.
Flavor Notes
Dark chocolate · Espresso · Dried fruit · Aged wood · Complex through every third
The Band
Deep burgundy — distinct from every other tier, deliberately. The gold foil chevrons in the shield
catch light the way earned respect catches attention: you notice it immediately, and it holds. Full gold
foil
treatment throughout, because pragmatically, this rank has earned every bit of it.
