RECRUIT

Robusto · 5×50

Recruit cigar

Every career begins here. A mild-to-medium blend built for the enthusiast finding their palate — or the veteran who wants an honest smoke without ceremony.

Mild-Medium Bundle of 5

NCO

Toro · 6×52

NCO cigar

The backbone of every branch. Medium-to-full body with depth that develops through every third. This is a cigar for people who know what they're doing with one.

Medium-Full Bundle of 5

E-9

Doble Corona · 7½×50

E-9 cigar

The highest enlisted rank. A slow, measured full-body smoke that rewards patience — dark chocolate, espresso, aged wood. This is not a quick smoke.

Full Body Bundle of 5

COMMANDER

Gordo · 6½×60

Commander cigar

The most assertive blend in the lineup. Complex, commanding, and unambiguous from the first draw. This is the cigar you light when the hard part is over.

Read the Story

Formation Cigars is not a cigar brand with a military theme. It is a military structure with a cigar product. The difference matters. Every decision — from vitola selection to band color to blend intensity — has been made to honor the actual meaning of each rank, not just its aesthetic.

The Recruit doesn't yet know what they're capable of. That's the point.

The NCO Corps is the backbone of every military branch. The E-9 is the highest enlisted rank — called by its grade rather than its title, because no single title captures what it means across every branch. The Commander carries legal authority and command responsibility.

These are not metaphors. The cigars are built to reflect what each rank actually means: in body, in length, in ring gauge, in band color. The E-9 has more length — time, institutional knowledge, decades of hard-earned credibility. The Commander has more gauge — a wider footprint, broader scope of authority.
